The Barista Coffee Bar, from Curitiba, Paraná, was born as a coffee shop for the Café do Moço toasting brand, created by Leonardo Moço. Graduated in nutrition and systems analysis, Leo used to work as an IT manager until falling in love with coffee.
Café do Moço always tried to emphasize the work at the coffee plantations of Paraná, using grains of this region for toasting. In 2013, he developed the Red Foot project, named due to the color of the coffee farms in the region. The goal was to improve the coffee production of small producers in the area. With the successful sales of the brand, Leo created the Barista Coffee Bar, which uses the toasted Red Foot grains at Café do Moço.
In addition to the Red Foot blend, grains from other Brazilian regions that are also sold keep alternating. They can all be prepared in the espresso option, made in Faema E61, or filtered on Hario V60, Aeropress, Prensa Francesa and Clover. There are the options of coffee with milk: Cappuccino, Mocha, Latte, Macchiato and the Bueno, an espresso with a splash of milk, made in the espresso named after a customer who has always ordered the drink. One could also order the Cold Brew and an infusion coming from the coffee husk.
Leo is one of the most awarded baristas in Brazil. He is currently committed to passing his knowledge to the public, through the Barista Training Center project, which has four modules: Basic Barista, Intermediate, Manual Preparations and Latte Art.
