Café Cristina from Brasília, Federal capital of Brazil, takes the same name of the city of Cristina, of Minas Gerais. There, are some of the best specialty coffee farms in Brazil. Daltro Barros, owner of a farm in the region, noticed the quality of the local coffee and launched the Café Cristina brand together with the partner Pedro Lisboa in 2004. In 2007, they opened the cafeteria with the aim of showing the grains of the farm for the rest of the country.
The grains used in the cafeteria are harvested and toasted at Barros farm, and then sent to Brasília twice a month. In the store, they are sold in three versions: Organic, Grand Cru and Special Edition, besides the option to blend them. The coffees are prepared on Hario V60, chemex or espresso from a Synesso Hydra, the first machine of its kind in Brazil. There are options for iced coffee and Irish coffee, and coffee-making equipment and materials are also sold, especially the ones from the Hario brand.
For 10 years, as one of the main coffee shops in Brasilia, Café Cristina maintains its legion of customers by following the ideal of coffee control; from farming to the glasses, everything is done by the same brand and the same people, showing a self-sufficient and self-sustaining entrepreneurship.
