The microlot has received a score of 86.25 by SCA
The Blood Moon microlot was harvested at night during a lunar eclipse in Serra da Canastra, Minas Gerais, and was released by Melitta to celebrate The World Coffee Day.
Cultivated at an altitude of 1,300 meters, the microlot was harvested at the Armadillo Site, by producer Pedro Brás, in the municipality of Vargem Bonita. From the Catuaí Amarelo variety, it was discovered by coffee Hunter Ensei Neto, who presented the coffee to Melitta, who then bought the small lot at an auction.
“Harvesting during the full moon causes the fruit to receive a greater flow of sap, retaining nutrients and sugars, and when it is done at night, the grains remain cooler and with harder peels, increasing sugar levels, which helps in preserving the aroma and taste,” explains the producer.
The edition is limited, around 200 units, in 250 gram packs at the price of R$ 32.90. Coffee is only available in the brand ecommerce (www.melitta.com.br)
