The German architect Tom Forster is passionate about the harmony between two materials: concrete and wood and, when creating his objects, he looks for inspiration in the patterns of nature.

Although he is not an enthusiast about premium coffees, his artist sensibility enabled him to create one of the most beautiful pieces of design that caught our attention on Instagram: these two coffee filter models belong in a design museum, don’t you agree?

“I seek inspiration in nature to create my pieces.” For the coffee filters, Tom used concrete and bent wood and “the inspiration came from the outline of a half-moon”, he says. It weighs eight kilos, attached to a 23cm base.

Currently, Tom works in an architecture office and makes his pieces in his spare time. “Each one of them requires about 30 hours of planning and about eight more for me to produce the concrete mold”, he explains.

If you’re interested in buying, I’m sorry to disappoint you: the pieces are priceless, because they were developed to be donated by the user @architectanddesign on Instagram. Be sure to follow Tom on Instagram: @tomforsterdesign.
