Coffee producers are also benefited by the creation of fintechs aimed at the agribusiness

Culttivo is one of them and offers credit to coffee growers through the CPR (Rural Product Certificate), promising to deposit the amount within 72 hours completely online.

One year ago, Brazil was closing due to the first wave of the coronavirus. It also exactly one year ago that four partners celebrated the start of operations at fintech Culttivo, focused on CPR (Rural Product Note) operations for coffee growers.

Coming from the Voiter bank, formerly Indusval – which already had a sophisticated credit operation aimed at coffee growers –, the executives were taken by storm (like everyone else), but they did not back down. The only more radical change was that they momentarily left the newly set up office in Faria Lima to work from home, thanks to the pandemic.

Despite the fright, the boys have had nothing to complain about: they have grown 10 times so far and 2021 is promising. All of this success is based on the company’s mission to offer credit when the coffee grower deposits the coffee in one of their accredited warehouses. The difference is that, unlike large financial institutions, Culttivo offers credit in a less bureaucratic manner, within 72 hours.

“We have more than 20 years of experience in the coffee market and we know the bottlenecks of the process. So far, producers had to spend a lot of time and energy to get credit, going after the institution’s signatures, notary’s office etc. Our proposal is to ensure that they obtain credit at fair rates, without bureaucracy, that is, without having to submit an extensive list of documents, neither the agronomist’s report nor offering the property as a guarantee to have access to the money,” explains Culttivo COO, Gabriel Santos.

The company’s CEO, Gustavo Foz, in turn, points out that he is proud to be able to transform the way coffee is marketed in Brazil. “Many technologies have taken place from the gate to inside the rural producing sites, but this did not occur from the gate to the outside, and Culttivo has come to contribute in order to change this scenario. We need to make coffee producers’ decision-making easier, thus helping increase their productivity and their protagonism,” he says.

At the company’s website, www.culttivo.com.br one can simulate credit access operations and get to know the list of partner warehouses.
