Exchange revenue obtained from the sale of premium coffees reaches US$ 721.1 million, which is equivalent to 21.4% of the revenue from January to August 2020.
In the first eight months of 2020, Brazil exported the equivalent of 4.4 million bags of 60kg of premium coffees, which are coffees that add additional value to both domestic and foreign sales because they have superior quality or some type of sustainable practices certificate. This physical volume corresponded to 16.8% of the total coffee exported by Brazil from January to August of this year and represented the second largest volume of the same period in the last five harvests. The exchange income obtained with these exports of differentiated coffees was US$ 721.1 million, an amount that corresponded to 21.4% of the total generated with the exports of all types of Brazilian coffees sold abroad in the period considered.
In this context, it is also worth highlighting the fact that the total of Brazilian coffees exported in the same period this year, including all types of coffee, was 26.4 million bags, a physical volume that, like premium coffees, also stands out as being the second largest volume sold to importers in these eight months, in the last five years, with foreign exchange revenue obtained by the country of US$ 3.4 billion.
