The first label was Santa Monica 86 points, shown at the beginning of the year.

Earlier this year, Café Santa Monica launched its first Microlot, Santa Monica 86 Points in grains, from the 2019 harvest.

The novelty marks the company’s entry into the specialty coffee market, as, until now, it has only operated in the niche of gourmet coffees.

Marcelo Moscofian, Santa Monica Group CEO

The next microlot will be a 90 points pattern that the company expects to start selling as soon as the harvest ends, at the end of May. “It will also be a Catuaí and, with the experience of past harvests, we are imagining that we will only have 100 to 200 units at most”, explains the CEO of the company, Marcelo Moscofian.

“Customers will be able to purchase the can in the brand’s e-commerce environment, and choose the grind according to the preparation method of their choice,” says Marcelo.

The first in the series, Santa Monica 86 Points in Grain, is a limited edition of just 600 250g cans. It comes from a 100% Arabica microlot, of the Catuaí red variety, has medium roasting and is the outcome of the Natural Yellow Honey process, which gives rise to a balanced acidity drink, with aromatic notes of orange and vanilla, according to the company.
