At just 1.80 square meters, the Little Coffee Shop, located in the West Zone of São Paulo, is known as the smallest coffee shop in the world and, even so, attracts a large number of customers. With an uncluttered climate and affordable prices, it is frequented even by its competitors. Everyone comes to taste the owner’s coffee, the economist and barista Flavia Pogliani.
(Little Coffee Shop always full of customers)
The granddaughter of coffee growers, she became interested in specialty coffees only after he visit to Australia. After attending a number of courses on coffee and working in several coffee shops in Australia, she returned to Brazil and began a series of visits to the origins of the best coffees. In 2014, she created the Little Coffee Shop.
The minuscule space did not scare Flavia, who, as an economist, saw that the business was still viable. She recently hired barista Jennifer Ribeiro, who has helped her make one of the best coffees in town. In this this small space, many specialty coffee admirers gather to taste a good cup and share precious information.
The Little Coffee Shop works with grains provided by Bica Torradores de Café, and with that, Flavia creates the blends of the house’s by adding the beans from Sofá Café (on the day of the interview, we drank a mixture of New World coffee and yellow catucaí).
All drinks are made in the espresso machine with special beans at a fair price, such as the tonic espresso, the coffee shop’s highlight, a blend of coffee with ice-cold soda.

The barista set up on the Little Coffee Shop’s top floor a unique environment for courses and workshops that will be given by her and guests, to teach the local public about the preparation of specialty coffee at home. Her workshop “Why open a coffee shop or not? Get it right and avoid the most expensive mistakes” is already sold-out.
Finally, her service at the Little Coffee Shop was duly acknowledged last year, when Flavia won the 2015/2016 Barista Award for the country’s largest-circulation magazine, Veja/Vejinha São Paulo, and received the 2016 Barista Award from the Prazeres da Mesa magazine. If you are interested in high-quality specialty coffees and good prices, Little Coffee Shop is your place to go!
