The new site will be neighbor of Sesc Pinheiros and will receive investment of about R$ 1 million.
Um Coffee Co, elected the best coffee shop in Sao Paulo in 2017, is opening a flagship until the end of the first semester, at Rua Paes Leme, Baixo Pinheiros. With an investment of about R$ 1 million, Um Coffee Co. Pinheiros will have more than 100 seats, with a capacity to serve from 500 to 600 people per day.
“It will be our biggest shop, with a totally different concept from the other two units of Um (Bom Retiro and Itaim), as we will prioritize fast service, great for those who work in the region, but with the comfort of enjoying the best coffee and comfortably seated meals,” says Goram Um, 28, a partner and head of the new venture.
The new site will serve lunch and dinner and, for that, will have extended hours: from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., thanks to the local profile. “Our goal is to serve at least about 100 cups of coffee a day, which for a specialty coffee shop is a pretty expressive number,” he says.
The site renovation is in charge of the same Korean architect who idealized the two other company’s projects. He will be responsible, also, for elaborating all the furniture at the site, until the minimum details.
Um Coffee Co. Pinheiros should employ 10 employees, which includes four baristas. “Two of them have already been working with us, and the other two should be hired until the inauguration,” Goram explains.
All the sweets will be made by the family matriarch, Marcia Um.
